I’m a writer and a world traveler, telling stories about the adventures, love and the in between times. Currently, I am living near Milan, Italy, with my fiance, who I met three years ago on a remote Greek island. Here on my website, you’ll find lots of stories. Stories of travel, stories of integration into a new culture, love stories and even some stories about the process of telling stories. You’ll also find the nitty-gritty of travel: itineraries, must-see highlights and tips from my experiences that can help you get the most out of your travels.
I’m working really hard to be brave and explore my passions through this blog, which include everything from the planning an adventure, to the surprises along the way. I hope others can find some inspiration, or connection, which is the ultimate point of story-telling, right?
I grew up in Northern Minnesota, in the USA, in a small community near Lake Superior. When I was 16, I moved to Minneapolis to study creative writing at the Perpich Center for Arts Education and have been busy writing and exploring since then. In the last 10 years, I’ve lived in Boulder, Yellowstone National Park, Los Angeles, Mérida Venezuela and Derry Northern Ireland, as well as traveled to 26 countries in North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East, on top of 30 US States.
I take the greatest delight in taking risks, going all in and finding creative ways to make an adventure impactful and memorable and I want to inspire and help others to do the same. I’ve WWOOFed, Couch Surfed, Air B&Bed, hosteled and done some volunteer tourism, while traveling around the world from a few weeks to six months.
Click the “Where I’ve Been” page for an archive of tips, information and stories from the variety of trips I’ve taken, and specific advice for different ways of traveling. Questions, comments or ideas? Leave a note in the comments, and I’ll do my best to address your concerns!
